Drumheller's brighter stories get told over a beer. The darker ones get distilled.
Drum Distilling Co. is the Valley's first craft distillery in the historic heart of downtown. Where the brewery down the street trades in sunshine, the distillery leans into the grit, the scandal, and the whispered history that made the town what it is.
The tasting room pours gin, vodka, spiced rum, liqueurs, and a rotating list of house cocktails, alongside ready-to-drink cans and family-friendly Drum Soda Works pops. You will even find Valley Brewing beer on the menu, one valley maker pouring another.
The whisky is still waiting.
It ages quietly in the back, the long game, saved until it is ready to tell its own story. Until then the cocktails flow and, now that the kitchen is open, Berta Burritos fires up bold Latin-American plates just steps from the bar.
Come for the spirits. Stay for the stories.
Drum Distilling Co. is a featured stop on the Badlands Eats journey through Canada's Badlands. There are plenty more places to eat, stay, and linger a little longer:

We acknowledge that what we call Alberta is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. We acknowledge the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
